About KS1 History
KS1 History introduces pupils in Years 1 and 2 to the past through stories of significant people, events, and changes within living memory. Children begin to understand chronology, learn to compare past and present, and develop a sense of how history shapes the world around them.
Our KS1 History quizzes cover curriculum topics including changes within living memory, events beyond living memory that are significant nationally or globally (such as the Great Fire of London and the first aeroplane flight), the lives of significant individuals (Florence Nightingale, Mary Seacole, Rosa Parks, Neil Armstrong), and local history.
Quiz questions help young learners remember key facts and dates, understand why certain people and events are historically important, and practise using time-related vocabulary such as past, present, old, new, before, and after.
